The day began at the bride’s coastal beach house in the heart of Bay Head, New Jersey — shell collections lining the walls, bridesmaids gathered around the kitchen island, makeup brushes in hand, steaming gowns hanging nearby, and the unmistakable scent of hairspray filling the air. It was the perfect picture of girlhood to begin a wedding day.
Just two houses down, the guys spent the morning watching the game, adjusting bow ties, and debating player stats as they tinkered with cufflinks.
As we made our way to the ceremony at the yacht club, the first full month of spring in the Mid-Atlantic was impossible to ignore. Windows down, salty air drifting through the car, and locals carrying on with their day-to-day routines — a quintessential New Jersey spring day, setting the scene for a celebration by the water. It was windy, but it was perfect.
